Protecting inventions
At Kilpatrick Townsend, I prepared patent applications and obtained patents for companies including Amazon, Pixar, Visa, and Becton Dickinson. That work meant getting into the details of an invention and translating them into a patent application.
Patent disputes
As a senior associate at Orrick, I represented leading technology companies in patent disputes. That experience informs how I prepare applications and assess patents today.
Experience inside the courts
I clerked for Judge Leonard P. Stark in the District of Delaware and Judge Timothy B. Dyk on the Federal Circuit, helping judges decide patent cases.
Legal and technical education
I graduated with honors from Harvard Law School. I also hold a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley.
Engineering experience
Before law, I worked in technical roles at Microsoft, VMware, and Synopsys, and published peer-reviewed research in IEEE and ACM publications.
